Share Good Love (SGL)

Dear Community Partner, 

SGL stands for Share Good Love and we are a group dedicated to providing social entertainment geared to the more mature (35 and older) members of the Black/African SGL (Same Gender Loving) communities and their friends in Toronto, Canada. Please understand that ALL members of our community and their friends are welcome regardless of age or race or gender. 

SGL was founded because of what we saw as a gap in the existing social scene. There are many options in the LBGT community for mainstream pop, top 40 or circuit oriented clubbing. 

There are some niche social events with a soul/funk/R&B, reggae/dancehall/soca/calypso, hip-hop focus catering to Black/African LGBT communities. However, many of us now in our 30’s and beyond are children of the disco/house era of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. While we enjoy all kinds of dance music, the little soulful house music that is usually played in the existing venues often leaves a lot to be desired. We are often frustrated to find truly satisfying dancing experiences when we go out. 

Tired of the present situation where it seems that promoters are not catering to us, we decided to plan parties to fill a social void and meet the needs of our target group. 

Our party/event is a not for profit party/event. 

Again, please understand that ALL members of our community and their friends are welcome to attend the event regardless of age or race or gender. The door is open to you all to share our space.
